I am dying to have a discussion on the movie Precious. I watched it on Tuesday and am unable to get this movie out of my mind. Through the fiction I find truth. It deeply saddens me knowing that there are probably many children, such as the character Precious, that fall through the cracks and are failed by the system. The scene where she writes why me? and then proceeds to confess that no one loves her and the she was tested as positive yet she has never had a real boyfriend broke my heart into a million little pieces. Gabourey Sidibe gave an outstanding performance, in my opinion!! 

I really liked the movie although I cried like the whole way through it. It really makes you feel grateful for what you have and the loving ppl you have around you. I know for sure that my life could be so much worse but I am so thankful for my family and husband and all the "stuff" i have. I couldn't imagine being her age and having kids and never having a real boyfriend. Unfortunately the system has its fault and some of the children fall through the cracks. 

I started crying about five minutes in myself and cried until the very end. My boss found my water works rather amusing when I was encouraging her to watch the movie yesterday. Just thinking about the movie makes me tear up! I agree; it certainly makes some of us appreciate what we have significantly more! 

it inspired me. sometimes i get all sad and mopey about my life and feel like everything bad that could have happened did. then i see that movie and it makes me feel inspired to keep on trucking because its not as bad as it could be :)
